Right now it is possible to create a local account with a distributed account ID. This should not be allowed.

1. I don't understand what you mean by a distributed acount ID
2. Your post is from 2005, is this still an issue with you

Sorry for this resurrecting this oooold issue! I believe this had to do with drupal.module, but I'm not sure I understand what he meant, so I won't change the status by myself.
Version is a mandatory field so I tagged it 6.x-dev because I don't know which version it was filed for, but it will give the issue more visibility ;)

Ah! Toasted by cosmicdreams by a few minutes, but I think it's really an issue for drupal.module

This has been opened many years ago, with no answer whatsoever, and Drupal has changed a lot since then. So I assume that if someone encountered the same "problem" recently a similar issue would be opened somewhere. Closing.
