Hello,

I'm new with Commons. I've an Commons 2.5 installation and I would like upgrade to Commons 2.6. My first question is: Must I download from http://drupal.org/node/1512408 (2,8Mb) or from https://network.acquia.com/downloads/drupal-commons (16Mb). I understand that in the first option I'm upgrading only the commons modules and in the second I'm upgrading the drupal core and commons modules. But what's the best option?

Thanks!

Thanks! Another question, in UPGRADE.txt says: "5. Disable all custom and contributed modules.". Is it including the commons contributed modules or only the modules that I've added to my customized drupal commons installation?

Hi!

You can just ignore that step without fear of doing something wrong. :)

Everything should be fine if one following Commons upgrade / release notes.

Hi!

Wow! You are really fast answering. :-)

I've done all steps until update.php and all is fine. In Commons upgrade / release notes related to Features, but not in UPGRADE.txt. Is UPGRADE.txt out of date?

Thanks again!

You're welcome. ;)

UPGRADE.txt is Drupal core file - while upgrading Drupal Commons distribution you can freely ignore all instructions in that file - I'm 100% sure that Commons maintainers considered all the relevant information and placed them into Commons upgrade / release notes - just be sure to follow them in all steps.

Thank you so much for your suggestions :-)

I'm upgrading the features, I'm following the instructions from https://network.acquia.com/downloads/drupal-commons/6.x-2.6-release-notes

  • Click the Overridden link for the feature. A page opens that provides more information about the selected feature.
  • Select all of the checkboxes relating to overridden components on the page.
  • Click Revert components.

From my point of view, the upgrade is done, but the status continues being override in the specific feature, by example: /admin/build/features/commons_answers and in the general list of features: /admin/build/features. Is it ok? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Hm...

I will soon upgrade Commons from 2.5 to 2.6 myself, until that happens maybe somebody else can help so marking issue active again.
