I recently enabled some of the modules for Book. (Book GUI, Book Expand) I also enabled some other modules at the same time...
Problem is, Create Content > Book and Book Page have since disappeared. I'm not sure at what point they ended up missing... but they're not there anymore. I'm signed in as administrator.
I disabled and even uninstalled most of the modules that I had enabled, but it made no difference.
Under Administration/Modules, Book is checked under Category. It's the only place I see it.
What the heck am I doing wrong?

drummThis probably isn't an issue with Drupal itself, but one of those modules.
Maybe try checking over your access control page and menus.

forsythes commentedI had checked those two places before posting... so it's not that. Also, even then the administrator account should have access. I ended up scrapping that install and starting over. Strange things were happening.
I've installed Drupal on that machine twice previously... so what's annyother install? Well... turns out... it's a problem.
I kept getting white screens of death on install and database errors. Thinking that soemhow mySQL had gotten messed up, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and started over with a fresh installation of Drupal. Now I get timeout errors on login. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what I set the timeout to in my php.ini file. It still continues to timeout.
I'm really frustrated because it seemed that Drupal was going to be a great solution for what we want to do... but then for no reason I can explain (nor can 3 server admins) things went wrong and we can't get everything to play nice again. I've had Drupal running on that machine for 6 months and we were about to go live with it when the problems started happening.
So... I'm rebuilding the server and going to try again... I really hope it works... but I'm not holding my breath.

dpearcefl commentedConsidering the time elapsed between now and the last comment plus the fact that D5 is no longer supported, I am closing this ticket.
