SharonD214@aol.com commentedI'm having a similar problem with Drupal 7. As admin when I hover on the top menu, the drop down menus show up but disappear when I drag down and try to select them. I can get it to work if I hover on the top menu then use the down arrow on the keyboard to select the items before hitting enter, but that's sort of a pain.

blakehall commentedLooks like I can replicate this issue when I install and enable Simple Menu as well as Nice Menus. It looks like this is being caused by duplicate versions of Superfish, one being loaded by each of these modules.
Disabling simple menu resolves the issue with nice menus. Also, it looks like a known issue in the SimpleMenu queue: http://drupal.org/node/794782.
Choosing version 1.4.8 in the simplemenu settings (admin/config/user-interface/simplemenu) seems to resolve the problem for me.
If this doesn't solve your problem feel free to reopen the issue.

SharonD214@aol.com commentedI don't have Simple Menu installed and still have the same problem.

mennonot commentedFor anyone else who gets here by Googling flicker and Nice Menu in the future, here's the solution for the Nice Menu and Simplemenu conflict:
Go to your Simplemenus settings (/admin/settings/simplemenu in 6.x) and go to advanced settings and under "SuperFish Version" select "custom or theme" from the drop down menu.
This will make Simplemenu use Nice Menu's superfish script and fix the flickering

astonvictor commentedD7 reached its EOL back in January 2025, and there is no active release for D7 for this module anymore.
Development or support is not planned for D7. All D7-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.
