I will work on fixing tests related to path aliases. Some of the fixes will probably change once #1183208: Remove variable_get('clean_url') and switch to index.php/path pattern for dirty URL support gets in.

I talked to Alex earlier today, and I think we're going to try and get that other patch in first before the kernel. It's probably best to hold off on this issue until that lands and the kernel is updated accordingly. Less to rewrite that way.
