My /hof page lists the titles for private nodes inside organic groups for anonymous / non-subscribed users... or at least it does se in the "Most Popular Content" for last week listings.

Looking for the same here.

I would like to restrict the nodes, certain nodes are private.

The call to db_rewrite_sql() is added to the node section (most popular content) in the upcoming release for Drupal 6. I would appreciate a retest if you have a D6 site available, and let me know if the problem is fixed for you.
