Using latest version of Gmap [head] and views 1.5
I can create a view, and and the correct nodes show [markers not the chosen markers, separate issue].
As well as the correct nodes showing, a 'phantom' marker appears in the centre of the view.
Upon clicking this marker, it disappears.
It reappears when zooming in or out, always at the centre of the view.
It is also there, for a location block, and again disappears when clicked.
Any ideas what might be causing this?
Aaln

bdragon commentedYou mean DRUPAL-5, right? HEAD is closed at the moment.
I don't know what's going on, do you have a link?
alanburke commentedHi
I meant the 5.1 version currently in development, sorry about that.
Here's a link
http://demo.runireland.com/events_map
The marker, that is directly in the middle is [cue dramatic sound effects!] the 'phantom' marker .
[Directly under the word Roscommon']
It's a bit clearer to see if you filter the list [see 'Track meets' only, for example], as the phantom marker will always be there.

Alan

csc4 commentedI've got this too - only started happening in the last week or so.
BTW - love your map, I'm trying to get something similar to work but can't seem to get the filters working.
alanburke commentedI've actually gone live with this [the bug isn't major]
Hopefully we can find a fix, but I haven't managed it so far.
The above link can now be seen at

@csc4 Open a separate support request, link to it here, and I'll see what i can do.

csc4 commented@alanburke thanks for the offer of support help - I've created a request here http://drupal.org/node/155247
Comment #6
alanburke commentedOk.. Found it..!
There is a setting on
admin/settings/gmap
called
I'm not really sure what it is supposed to do.
I had it enabled, as I assumed I neede it to set locations with Gmaps, but when I disable it
1. The 'Phantom Marker' disappears.
2. Setting location with a Gmap works
3. No Other bad side effects
4. One other Positive.
When a GMap view was presented, as in my example. It was always zoomed in 2 levels more than the default zoom at
admin/settings/gmap
Previous to this I had compensated the default zoom to make up for this, and presumed it was my mistake.
It also seems to be a sideaffect of this 'locpick'
I reckons this is still a bug.
But now I can sleep at night, and stop losing my hair....

Alan

hansrossel commentedGreat! Thanks for sharing this Alan, I had the same problem.
Your solution solves mine too.
As far as I understand from http://drupal.org/node/130671#comment-223217 there seems to be two different ways to get a map of nodes: with gmap_views (gmap macro?) and with gmap_location. When you enable both ways at the same time you get the phantom markers.

bdragon commentedOops, I shouldn't let you turn that one on, actually.
Yeah, it's used to make the map into a location chooser.
Don't turn on locpick in your settings page, please.
bdragon commentedlocpick is now flagged as internal, and saving the settings page should reset it if it had been enabled by the user.
