I am following the tutorial on the category module website. I can create a container called Articles and a child containers named Sections (for stories) and Section (for blogs). When I attempt to add a category to either of the sections container, I get the above error.

Error: An illegal choice has been detected. Please contact the site administrator.

What must I do to resolve this? I an not using SimpleNews so that can't be it.

Note that I am on a test site on my laptop using XAMPP. When I first started to "play around" I started with the taxonomy module and created some containers and vocabularies. Then I used the legacy module to convert them. Perhaps this is the problem.

I am at the point where I am seriously thinking of starting completely over.

This is a form validation error, which is weird. But since no-one else seems to see this problem for over 2 years now, I assume it was some kind of misconfiguration or whatnot. Closing the issue now - feel free to re-open, if this is still a problem.
