To be more specific:
The first slide of the presentation is not where it is expected to be (tried to set it to data-scale = 0)

Can you be even more specific ?
After all, the css and positioning of the slides is left for you to decide, what do you expect to have out-of-the-box here ?
BTW data-scale is about the size of the slide and not its positioning so I really don't understand.
