I have just setup a site and told a few people about it. They signed up but didn't receive the registration email due to problems with the mail server. As the site users are a little slow with the internet I would like to just resend their registration email so they can continue that process as normal, or even reset their password and get it emailed to them.

Is there any facility for this in Drupal 5.1, or a module that allows this? I've looked and haven't found any answers. Whats the strategy I should take?

Not sure if this is exactly what you're after, but take a look at http://drupal.org/project/account_reminder.

have been googling for an hour and haven't found the answer yet either.. hard to imagine this isn't core in Drupal yet... coulda swore it was here.. :(
