Adding the PDF File ID to the Image Description field

I'd like to add the pdf file ID to the created image cck Description field. The reason for this is to provide a better connection between the two.

When working with the images in a View, there is no link back to the PDF file. If there is more than PDF uploaded to a node, I'd like to be able to use the file id of the PDF file to access the corresponding imagefield image (rather than all images in that node).

I can achieve this using a custom Views template, but I need some link. At the moment there is not one.
