I suspect the warning could be due to README file extension. Module is searching for README.txt (lowercase extension), while the real file name is README.TXT (uppercase extension).

I commited the changes on fa3fe49 commit, they should be available on next dev snapshot (will be available to download within 12 hours).

Just a little update on this thread: I noticed it was simplier renaming README.TXT to README.txt than changing the module function...
This way is good also for drupal name standards, see http://drupal.org/node/447604

So, now dev version contains the renamed README.txt file and everything should work fine.
