Hello everyone,
when using the Taxonomy CSV module to do imports, I am noticing that on an import if a term already exists it does not update the term with the latest update i made in the csv file i am importing. Is there any setting I am missing? What rules determine the way a term gets merged?
Thanks

Daniel_KM commentedHi,
The fifth section allows you to choose to update a term or to create a new one (a duplicate). This choice is not available for each import format.

jrviper2000 commentedHi Daniel,
That option has been selected, but that still doesn't update any custom fields that were changed in the csv file I am importing.
Thanks,
Josh

Daniel_KM commentedHi,
When you choose to update a term in the fifth section, the process is very basic: the module searchs for a similar term name (similar means that the case is insensitive), in the selected vocabulary, and when a name is found, the module applies the new definition on it.
There is an exception when you import a tree : the term name is searched only in the current branch of the vocabulary in order to keep or build the structure. That's why the structure should be imported first.

jrviper2000 commentedHi Daniel,
I am not quite sure what you mean by the structure should be imported first. Would you please be able to provide me with instructions on how I can get my custom fields updated when I do an import?
Thanks,
Josh

Daniel_KM commentedHi,
Have you tried the last or dev release?
If yes, can you give me one or two terms of your input and the fields you use?
Sincerely,
