I don't have views 2 to test this,
would this work on
Views "Content" type?
or
Views "Taxonomy Term" type?

I believe this should work on "Taxonomy Term" type. Same problem here, did anyone get this to work or found an alternative?

Any news? I have followed the Views Taxonomy Summary steps from the main Views Hacks page as best as possible (as they don't match the most recent version of Views), but there is no Taxonomy: Term ID (with depth and summary), just a Taxonomy: Term ID available. If I display a summary of Taxonomy: Term ID for action to be taken when the contextual filter value is not in the URL, and then I choose list, at least I get a list of results (though not hierarchical). However, if the format is "Taxonomy" no list of terms appears at all.

Yeah, it looks like it's broken for Views 3 in D7.
