First, I'm having issues with the mailto function. When I preview the newsletter in the drupal system the mailto link works fine, but when i send out to other emails, the mailto link doesn't work.

also, where can i find info on how to presonalize the newsletters to the recievers email (i.e. dear [emailaddress first name], )

Try the Drupal 5 version, Drupal 4.x no longer supported.
