Okay, this is really odd. I have a view which utilizes slideshow to display fields of a custom content type. I added inline comments to the bottom of the view. When I add a comment a whole new (replicated) view shows up in the page counter and as a view. It is identical in every way to the view it is mimicking. Further, if I then add another comment, it repeats this behaviour so that I now see the same view three times. It is not creating a new node. However, in the original node, that now has the comments added to it, there are now comments above and below all of the other fields (except the Title field: which remains at the top of the page).

Just to update, I went back into views and removed the inline comments field. The issue remained. I then uninstalled inline comments. The issue remained (still had three phantom nodes). Cleared caches each time. No change. I then deleted the comments. Each time, I received several error codes. After deleting all comments the issue disappeared. Well, the phantom node issue, at least. I still have a comment box above and below the main content.
