.... Anybody... ?? ... Is this thing on? ;-)

Hello there.

Can somebody please point me to some documentation for using this Simple_Access module with Drupal 7?

I've been trying to find some help for over a week and all I can find is the README.txt that is downloaded with the module.

Basically, it advises the user to

1) enable the module (done), then
2) "go to the simple access settings and enable the database."

When I go to CONFIGURATION > SIMPLE ACCESS > SETTINGS, there is NO option to "enable the database"
There are four check-boxes visible:
View:
Edit:
Delete:
Show groups....
and a 'Save configuration' button.

I have placed a check in 'View' and saved.

I next went to CONFIGURATION > SIMPLE ACCESS > GROUPS, gave my group of 'authenticated users' a name, and clicked 'Submit'
That was pure guesswork (as are my subesequent steps below) because I read on the Simple_Access project page that a 'group' must be created.

I was then taken to an 'Access groups' screen with my solitary group listed. I clicked 'Update' because it seeme logical.
Next, I assumed I have to restrict access to the nodes that I want to restrict access to... OK... let's see now... 'Content', perhaps?

I went to CONTENT > EDIT for the Title I wanted (in my case, I don't wish un-authenticated users to see my Forum pages), and all I can work with there is 'Forum Topic'.

Eureka! At the bottom of the Edit screen is a menu item named 'Access'. Clicking on that produced a window with two items, each with a check-box;
'Owner Permissions', and the group name I had used previously (Members).

I placed a check in both under the 'View' column, and clicked 'Save'.

I logged out of my admin. account and viewed the site as an anonymous visitor.
I can still see the 'Forum' menu tab in my 'Antonelli' theme. After clicking on it, I could see the forums.

I could NOT however, see the actual test forum post when I clicked on it. OK..
Unfortunately, this is exactly the same outcome that I got from trying the 'Content_Access' module, and NOT what I would like.

What I would like is for the Forum menu items, AND all the Forum pages to NOT be visible/accessible to anonymous users.

Is there anybody out there at all who can assist me with some further help with regards to this, as I've spent many a long hour getting absolutely nowhere.

Things I'd like to know quickly in a perfect world:

1) Documentation explaining how to use Simple_Access (Just exactly HOW do I "enable the database")
2) Documentation explaining how to prevent certain Drupal pages (nodes? content?) being visible/accessible to non-authenticated users using ANY module.

Anybody? ;-)
In the meantime, I shall keep persevering. As fascinating and addictive as I think Drupal is/can be, I must say that the frustration level in trying to learn it is also very high.
...Onward..... :-)

Thanks in advance for any tips with this.

Regards,

The settings page for simple access doesn't come out unless you do this : https://drupal.org/node/887108

Another attempt at obtaining information.

This module seems to be good for setting up simple UI:s for non-technical users, but the fact that is seems to have only one main developer seems to be a big problem for it's development.

No offense! I'm just worried.
