General Spark announcements

Re-titling so people can subscribe if they want. :)

The "official" announcement about Spark went out to the internets at http://buytaert.net/announcing-spark-authoring-improvements-for-drupal-7.... Therein you can get a sense of the types of things we're hoping to focus on in Spark, and we'll be bringing Wim Leers and Gábor Hojtsy on to the team as implementors. Additionally, Kevin O'Leary has been working on some design mockups which we'll be posting for feedback hopefully this week. If you're strong on the UX design or JavaScript side, there are still openings available on the Spark team. :)

I've been doing some work on the Panopoly issue queue, since this distribution does an absolutely stellar job of wrapping together all of the various Panels* stuff into a cohesive interface, and there's likely a lot of thing the Spark team can borrow when we get to tackling page/content layout tools.

This week I'm doing some issue queue farming to reflect the state of some internal discussions regarding priorities for Spark, in order to provide transparency and also to get things lined up for our team to start in earnest over the next couple of weeks. Please keep the helpful suggestions coming!

Shoot. I totally forgot about this issue.

Even though this issue was earlier, I'm going to go ahead and close this out in favour of #1800392: [meta] Current sprint plan of attack and updates (Oct. 15 - Oct. 29); this node will provide an ongoing list of what we're working on for a given sprint, as well as ~weekly updates.
