Hi, I have recently launched Drupal website

http://www.blinkdating.com/

Everyone can upload his photo and see his rating there.

I have coded hotornot module based on simple hotornot clone.
With privatmsg module, it is a good dating site!

Please support it by uploading your photo :)

That's a nice addition to the Drupal community.

Will you share with us your hotornot module?

Yes, I would like to contribute it.
Now I'm testing and adding new features.

It works well. It will look better if you adapt the stylesheet to make it more individual. Also, I think that the IP address shall only be able to cast ONE vote if the image is displayed more then once. This will be similar to the poll where they only get to make one vote each time that image is displayed.

It would be good if the images are automatically resized to the same dimensions. This will stop the horizontal scroll bar from appearing. =8^)

Nice one...looks good..

As a tip...it might be a nice addition if you combined that with the moblog.module...i.e. people could send pictures from their mobile phone...

Quick question...could the same hotornot type module be applied to music? i.e. bands upload their demos and people can vote for them?

Or is flexinode a better way to go about that?

the reason i ask is I guess you might have tried using flexinode to do the same for your picture voting before making the hotornot.module.

Cheers and compliments on the site..looks good...

Vitamin G is my choice....kilkenny is considered "womens guinness" over here.

Yes, I could see that site getting very popular. I'll get back to working on moblog.module soon.

Hi again..

was at your site and noticed that sometimes the same picture came up twice in a row...instead of moving on..

just thought I'd mention it if you're tweaking the module.

Addictive stuff by the way..

Currently the module uses users with pictures from user.module
I've done so because I needed simple and quick-coded solution.

With a little coding, it is possible to make hotornot module work with any nodes.

I noticed that only about 15% of users who register upload their photos.
Maybe upload process is not obvious for many users?
Or is there another reason? How do you think?

Your site will become more popular and you users will publish more pictures if you give it a more professional look. Try creating your own theme. Or ask a designer to create one for you.

Furthermore, there may be some typos to correct... like "Gener:" instead of "Gender:".

Keep up the good work.

Is the hotornot module going to be available for download anytime soon? I'm trying to make a dating site and would love to use this module? Or, could you send me the code you have so far and I could help out?

Very nice module! Would it be possible to get it from you?

I'm guessing there is little point waiting for him to release anything: Hence I hacked together a simple hotornot clone to take advantage of the voting.module

http://face.ratingzone.net

Note: I haven't written a module, I've just used off the shelf stuff and made some *minor* tweaks (hacks) to node.module (for random node display).

Other than that, anonymous image uploading, comments and a few other bits and pieces.

Have a look, upload a random picture (of yourself preferably).

Please, anyone who has set a hotornot site using drupal - PLEASE provide some instructions on how to do so.

Thanks,

1) it looks like this site has been replaced with a domain squatting site.
2) I don't have a hot-or-not module, but I did use a webform node, modded it by adding another form type (to trap the node you are looking at when you see the page with the form). Then on the pages where I want this form (e.g. all of the pages), I make a node reference to the form, then in the templating, load the referenced node (the web form). It will read the node from the arg(1), pass that onto the web form to work as a hidden value. That form data is saved and you can do math on the votes (min, max, average, etc.) via custom SQL statement. I intend on contributing the form type and the recipe when I get past my current project.
