Do not use Starting Path for Relative Links

The idea for my wiki creation is that I'd be able to create other content types using freelinking + wikitools. So if I typed my path to be [[stories/new-node|Friday Adventures]], when I save and refresh, the link would be able to see that I am using stories (which is set in URL aliases) and can link to a new node of that content type with that path. By having Starting Path for Relative Links be wiki, my new node would wiki/stories/new-node. Any ideas of how to get around this?
