For some reason the images users upload won't display properly. And when they login, it says they don't have permission to make any changes to their website (except for settings). I'm using version 2-12. I tried installing the latest version, but encountered a bug mid-installation and gave up.

This is still an issue. I uploaded a head shot and it does display on the front page with the 'Featured' site. However, when you click on the site, see issue #1238318: Directory where OpenScholar is install is removed from URL path, you get sent to the wrong URL. So I manually type the URL of the site and once the site is displayed the head shot image is not displayed.

Can you elaborate a bit? What version of OS ? Do you have a url for us to look at ?
