I modify template.php for "aurora" theme with "function _phptemplate_variables_aurora"
Ticked theme compatibility in nodestyle configuration.
Created 2 node styles - 1 using "aurora" which has the mod and 1 using "marvin" which doesn't need the mod.
Create content, choose "marvin" nodestyle. Everything works fine.
Created content, choose "aurora" nodestyle. I get a plain page stripped of css.

I've just tested this with the aurora theme and two node_styles - one using marvin and the other, the default theme, aurora - and found no issues after renaming the phptemplate function in the aurora theme.

Please reopen with more information if issue persists.
