No Google Tab in multisite

I've configured Google CSE for a site and it works great. In search/node there is a google tab and I can browse search/google. I've setup another site (multisite installation) and the permissions are set the same but in the 2nd site, there is no google tab. When I go to search/google, I am automatically redirected to search/node. Everything is configured the same. Anyone else encountered this problem with a multisite installation? The Google CSE is installed in sites/all/modules folder. Both sites are using the same Google Custom Search Engine ID.
