Accordingly to the ligne 222 of views_summarize.module, only numeric values are summarized for a "total" .
I should use "total (currency)" But "$" is the only choice...
Could be great to set the currency.

If I'm understanding you correctly, I believe this is a duplicate of #1517570: Allow the change of currency. If I'm wrong, please explain how it is not.
