Following up on this previous note: http://drupal.org/node/153916; and the comment at the top of this page: As of 4.7-2.x, both client and server are included.

The 5.x version includes the OpenID 2.0 pre-draft 11 specification, but doesn't seem to include an OpenID provider. Is it possible to provide some clarification on this, and/or whether the 5.x module will be updated to include the provider?

The code was originally developed on 4.7. It has not yet been updated. It will be updated in the normal open source Drupal way -- either "As time permits" or when folks band together to support a developer.

There are other goodies, like OpenID SREG module, that also need porting to newer versions.

Thanks very much for the extremely quick response. I am personally still trying to get the hang of navigating around Drupal module code, and am not much of an engineer either. But I do have a running OID 1.0 server running that can generate personas, as well as several Drupal sites that I am happy to sacrifice for testing purposes.
