I had tried to integrate sometime back - #861236: Integration with drupal smileys module available at http://drupal.org/project/smileys to a. I am not sure if they have resolved the problem now. Thanks.

You're linking to the Smileys module, which is a D6 project. I am linking to the Smiley module, which is a D7 project (port of Smileys). Does the same issue apply in this case?

Support for Smiley module (D7) would be great.

But if you cannot do this can you please provide a definition of the smiles that convert to a graphic smiley when typed in.

@spineless, at the moment, DrupalChat uses the following smiley mapping table: http://benalman.com/code/projects/javascript-emotify/examples/emotify/ (with minor variations, if any)
