Hey all,
I am pretty new to Drupal. I've been maintaining a site and I just created my first site in Drupal.
I have a project that I might work on where I've been asked to help set up a commerce system where users can post digital items to sell. When someone makes a purchase the author is given some commission and the site gets some money of the money. If possible, the person who makes the purchase can list a referrer to the site that gets part of the commission too.
I've never set up a commerce site so I'd appreciate some direction on modules to use. The sites I've used have been built in Drupal 7 so that is what I'd be most comfortable with but if certain modules are only available in Drupal 6 I could adapt.
Thanks!
Andrew

ecommerce is one area there's not a lot of choices-- pretty much commerce or ubercart. However, the whole commission/marketplace feature is going to limit you to ubercart_marketplace which is still d6 only iirc. However, if you're going to expend effort on development, you might be better off contributing to the commerce marketplace effort which seems to have stalled (there's an issue in the issue queue for it).

There is a market place module for Ubercart 2/D6 but it hasn't been updated for a while but Wondex is taking on the task to port it to UC3/D7 http://drupal.org/node/1008204
