If you want to control which Views should be allowed to reference, you have to enable/disable each View (with checkboxes).

I think it would be a nice feature to be able to select one ore more Views tags.

So you could say "Allow referencing of all Views with the tag 'Foobar'". And so the admin is able to create new Views that are automatically selectable with View reference without editing/updating the View reference field.

You could even offer an option to enable and disable Views by Views tags. So one could say: "the Views with the tag 'admin stuff' should not be selectable by View reference"

Sounds good, but I don't know how to identify a View by a tag, and I tried using the UI and I can't even figure out where to put tags. I do seem to recall there is a such a feature, but nfi where it is.

just as I post that I find it, it's under "edit view name/description" and a CSV list of tags exists at $view->tag
yeah I guess we can do something about that

I don't know why I bother with 'needs review'.
