Okay, I started this issue with location taxonomization http://drupal.org/node/1537684
Really, it is a Gmap issue.

How do I use the autozoom for only filters or certain filters, but have the map start out somewhere else, as autozoom overrides the manual settings?

I listed it as a bug, as I believe there isn't functionality to fix it as is.
