Hey there, I'm interested in using phpBB 3 with my forum, depending on how long it should take. Regardless, I have a few ideas on how it would work.

Logging in at the actual Drupal website automatically logs you into the forums.

Changing the password in the forums changes the password you use to log in on the sites to that, it'd be no different than using Drupal's forum.

Important for me: User profiles in Drupal that require you to upload an avatar/display picture will mean that picture automtatically shows up on the forum as the picture.

Giving accounts certain roles means that will be the role on the forum. For example, let's say I call an account "Community Manager" or "Moderator" on Drupal, when they go to the forums, they will be a Moderator and have moderation powers for the forum. If I call an account "Special User" for example, they will be a special user on the forums as well since phpBB allows you to call different accounts different "statuses" if you will.

That's what I have for now, easier said than done I suppose. That's what I'd look for in the forum I guess. Hope it helps?
