just installed this. only user that appears in dropdown is my own... same if I log in as another.

Please confirm that there are other users online. The IM module only sends messages to online users.

If you are looking for functionality to send messages to offline users, you might look at organic groups or similar.

Alternatively, you could request it as a feature.

ahhh... ok, thanks for clarifying. I was testing with just me online and another test user offline.

I actually am using organic groups, but there is no IM feature. What did you mean?
