When I open the site and i try to expand a menu, as soon as i point to +sign I get an "error on page". The menu can be expanded normally bij clicking on the menu-title, and can be closed again using the - sign.

Hereafter the (+) sign works again without any error.

This occurs on IE6 as well on FF2.
I have searched the pages and saw some other reports on the activemenu but not this one(fail on first use, succesfull thereafter)

clivesj, the site you pointed me to offlist is returning null content from the AJAX callback to refresh the menu. I can't determine why.

You might want to try the HEAD or 5.x dev version of Javascript Tools, which contain some bugfixes.

Thanx Nedjo, I have installed the two versions as you said, but the behaviour stays the same.
b.t.w. After installing HEAD is got the same problem as :

Without wanting to go off-topic, but just to be sure:
I assume there's no additional install requirements on the server-side to use AJAX / JS?

Activemenus reportedly breaks if jquery update is installed. Is jquery update on the sites in question?

In my case the faulty activemenu was caused by an incomplete menustructure originating from a not so well created view (views).
So in fact there was a menu there pointing to something not existing. There wasn't anything wrong with activemeni itself.

No jQuery update installed on the site i tested the module.
However I re-enabled the module and it seems to work now. As the site is still in development the issue might have been that that there were menu items set up actual urls linking to.
