In a table view the apparal products I am working with price do not get displayed in a currency format. It just get displayes as an integer number. For example if the price is $10.00 it just simply shows as 10 which is not a standard format for price.

Its a subproducts problem. It doesnt call format_payment function to display prices.
I suggest you to use EC Live Subproducts. Its a advanced subproducts module that will be merged to original subproducts on Ecommerce version 4. You will get full support. (i will be the maintainer)
Remember that EC Live Subproducts doesnt work when apparel and original subproducts are enabled.
