Images not showing in Dynamic Link boxes

I've tried in both 1.x-dev and alpha. Both 6.0 versions.

So I've added an image to my list of fields for the view.
I've tried with and without an imagecache preset.
I've tried by having the field output the url itself, or even the path- then rewriting the field to be within img tags (basically a views html hack).
I've tried just about every way of trying to get an image in there through views (and not background images by using CSS, that is not a proper solution).

I can't seem to get the images in the link/title boxes that you click to switch between panels.

I've only managed to have it produce the FID (file_id). is there any way to get small thumbnails into the slide link boxes?
