Bèr Kessels commentedSorry, but this is most certainly a won't fix as you state it. However, there are plans that go far beyond your request, if you are insterested, read more about it in Jonathan Chaffer's CCK.
And if you wantto be part of this, and call yourself a PHP developer, you can have a look at the node type you want to have extended. Let me assume, blog. You can create a flexinode version of this, by removing type "node" from the module, and make it into a framework, so that any type can be made a "node". That way any flexinode (or any other type) can be placed into the blogs.
The idea is nearly similar to what the book does: You can make any type a book-page.
