Using Firefox 2 for Mac - I exposed a filter and then decided I did not want exposed. However, the UI for this item is missing both a "delete" button as well as any way to unexpose the field.

In the exposed filters section there should be a trashcan icon next to it.

There is not - that is the problem. Reloaded, logged out, logged back in - no trash can.

Using FF 2.0 on Mac.

Hmm... On my system there is no icon in the Filters field set, but there is in the "Exposed Filters" field set. Clicking it removes that filter from both.

I'm not able to duplicate that behavior -- I had a view with both filters and exposed filters, and deleting the exposed filters does not remove the entry under filters.

I cannot recreate the exposed filter not having a delete icon by it. I can confirm that the regular filter cannot be deleted if it's exposed. That's intentional.

I can confirm that when an exposed filter is deleted, the filter cannot be immediately deleted. As a workaround, save the view and then delete the filter.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

I can reproduce this on many of my views. For instance, I have a node reference filter that is exposed. It is "optional". But when I go to edit the view and add a new field for instance, it gives me an error message that the node reference filter must have a value.

However, like merlinofchaos says, if I delete the exposed filter, resave my view, then I can delete or expose the original filter. But the fact that the filter should NOT be requiring a value if it's optional seems like a bug to me.

To give more information on this bug, I am using 5.x-1.x-dev and have tested in all browsers both Mac and Windows. I have saved at every step of the process to see if that would stop the glitch. So I add a node reference filter -- save. Then I expose the node reference filter -- save. Then I check "optional" on the exposed filter -- save. Then I deselect everything in the node reference filter -- gives me a "value required" error. See screenshots.

This happens all the time. Usually I have to start over with the view since the exposed filter cannot be deleted.
This seems to happen when the view is actually a clone of a view. So that might be what is causing the problem.

This solution worked perfectly fine for me:

Give it a try and see if it works for you as well.

As mentioned before, this is the intended behavior.
