quicksketchI gave the module a significant javascript rewrite in version 1.2 (just released). Could you try it out and report if the problem still exists?

is considered external because the www. is missing. This is fixed in 1.2 and higher.
The icon is missing on the sidebar links, but this is a problem with the IE css rendering. See http://drupal.org/node/132614
