What I mean is it would be nice to have the ext links add an optional anonymizer to the link such as http://anonym.to? automatically from the settings page. Or a server side script which does the same thing to mask the origin domain from the linked to site.

This module is purely a JavaScript solution, so it would never be effective at anonymizing links (you could just turn off JS to see the original links). You might try the ELF (external links filter) module for a similar request.
