I added a cck field to a vocabulary, its a select list field with keys 1, 2, and 3. If i had that field as a filter to my view and filter by a specific value, the view filters only terms with that value but when using that view for the term tree widget, no options are available. I've set the view to display all items, added taxonomy term id as recommended. I've tried this both as a filter and an argument with fixed value and no luck in either case. Any ideas as to why this doesn't work?

Same here. Worked fine until I added hierarchy to my vocab.

You can at least use the parent ID filtering now via the dev release #1433182: Translation of the taxonomy tree (multiple translated terms inside the same vocabulary)
