Custom map marker icon in static map

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature request.

I discovered that the dynamic map will allow a custom marker icon but the static map will not. I can select a custom marker icon but it does not appear on the static map. If I change from static map to a dynamic map the custom marker icon will then appear. It would be nice if it worked for both.
