I am looking for a green solution for hosting my new drupal site (set to deploy in July).

I am looking to spend about 30-35$, and so far drupion VPS Standard 768 RAM for $35/monthly seems to be the best deal. (plus they have drush, git, varnish, etc, all set up).

But drupion doesn't appear to be green.

I currently have greengeeks shared hosting (no real complaints), but they offer 500 MB VPS for $40 and 768MB RAM for $50. That's a little above my pricerange.

Has anyone found a good green solution for drupal hosting that is not shared hosting?

I looked into that once, and found none.

Drupion do not say whether their VPS is OpenVZ or Xen. Often OpenVZ works really badly for Drupal but at your budget probably worth a try. For a limited budget your websites will almost certainly be faster on shared hosting with one of the real Drupal specialists (I mean the likes of Omega8 or http://civihosting.com/ not the generic cheap hosts who do a few Drupally things), rather than on a relatively basic VPS. But still I am not aware of any which claim to be carbon neutral.
