So, I am trying to learn about Drupal... I installed it on my server and also was able to make some basic pages, change navigation a bit and even download a new theme...

I am not familliar with Drupal this is my 1st time using it.. but when I tried to create a Article I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function file_field_widget_form() in /home/content/b/l/u/bludevl80/html/OpenPublic/modules/image/image.field.inc on line 311

is this due to a bad installation??? or something else? What am I missing?

I am no expert but maybe some permission on an image folder needs sorting so it can write to it?

Yes it is due to bad installation, you need to make sure all files were copied or extracted properly.
