with TinyMCE enabled text area, adding/removing another item wipes anything that has not been saved

works fine in plain text fields

we think the problem is caused by the conflict of wysiwyg module with field collection module. We used to have the same issue.
However we use the CKeditor to replace the wysiwyg. The problem has gone.
CKeditor module

I started seeing this issue again recently after updating to a newer version of field collection. Updating to the most current WYSIWYG fixed it.
