I am trying to set a variable for a view block,

Is there anyway to set th alt tags to an image field?

It seems to be a common problem. There is no way to change ALT and TITLE tags for image field within views.
You can only use image field native ALT and TITLE tags but there is no way to specify it on the level of each particular view. We are working on the patch right now...
