Update.php does not seem to work - 4.3.1 to 4.5.0

Taran - January 17, 2005 - 02:59

I am updating from 4.3.1 to 4.5.0 on easylum.net, and followed all the instructions. I click the link to update the script at http://www.easylum.net/update.php, and I get a blank page. I double checked conf.php. Everything looks right.

This doesn't make sense to me.

I had tried 4.5.2 before, following the instructions and adding the appropriate additions for 4.3.x and 4.4.x via SSH/MySQL. Something's definitely FUNKY, because I can't see anything but blank pages, even after clicking the link on update.php.

Ideas? Help? :-)

OK.

It ends up that somehow it didn't have me logged in. So I bypassed that in update.php (now why doesn't THAT smack you on a page when there is a failure?!), and the upgrade seems to have gone OK - but now I can't access the site, and it's a one and one site of course (1and1.com) - so I'm digging on that.

the htaccess file looks fine, but verifying. Ideas?

Still not working right.

easylum.net is giving me a simple 'page not found'. Grr. Help?

Pulling down database...

Really don't want to lose what's in it, but it looks like clean install time.

I apparently always have the odd problems that nobody has an answer to. :-(
