Updating against the latest dev version from May 10 and applying this patch returns the following error for me:

$ git apply -v 0001-Update-to-7001-fails.patch
sites/all/modules/lm_paypal/0001-Update-to-7001-fails.patch:49: trailing whitespace.
warning: 1 line adds whitespace errors.
