I am using a pseudo-style plugin for 'render region' that does not create actual output, comparable to the headers plugins or to disabled panes. It would therefore be helpful to directly distinguish these panes and regions from regular ones. Similarly, on complex pages it takes often a long time, to see which panes are cached and which are not, requring to click on each pane to see its setting.
Is there a way to easily alter the color of regions or panes depending in the page manager view from the panels_style hook? The status messages(eg. status:hidden or "status: changes not saved") seem to be hardcoded in the panels CSS, but I think it might be useful to have more control over the administrative display.
Any suggestions how I could achieve something like this?
