The main menu works fine in ff, but in IE9 and chrome, only the 'home' link shows.
is there a patch for this?

First check this stuff:
Those menu items have access restrition?
Are you logged in or off in all the browsers?

(i've spent a day wondering why one of my block werent showing because i had it restricted only to registered users, and in ff i was logged-in and in IE9/Chrome i wasn't :) )

This issue has not been reproduced I have created the main menu bar in chrome and it is working fine.
