Impressive! I would like to do something similar in spanish. Could you share part of the code, or at least some excerpts? How did you do that COOL waveform preview?

spyrol’s picture

The waveform preview is done with PHP was written initially by an Australian, michael kamleitner.
You can review the code here (classAudioFile.php)

http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/file/1582.html

We had to tweak accoringly to work with our encoder (mp3 conversions of wav files done automatically on the server using the LAME encoder).

I am glad you like it Xabi.

What was used to set varying size of tags based on popularity?

Xabi’s picture

That one is easy: tagadelic module (drupal.org/project/tagadelic)

spyrol’s picture

Hi Muella,

We are using the tagadelic module

that allows us to create tagcloulds with maximum 10 different tag levels with different font sizes according to the popoularity (amount of content)

check out the module here

cheers,
guy

And what about that waveform generator? Could you share some code? Maybe could I buy some of that code? I'm planning to give a service like this in spanish. Thank you.

this is the waveform generator code right here,

http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/file/1582.html

have fun

Thank you very much! But this class allows to "load audio-files (wav,aif,mp3,ogg) and check their attributes like sample-frequency, resolution, channels, length, format, compression, id3-tags and more. besides this it visualizes audio-samples they way you know it from waveLab, CoolEdit or any other audio-editor".

I'm using the audio module for uploading files and it's ok for me. Could you point me in the right direction for using only the "visualizes audio-samples" feature with the audio module?

I love your site.

Can you please give me a brief overview on how you created your user profiles? Did you modify the profile module or use nodeprofile?

Any direction will be appreciated!

spyrol’s picture

thanks,

appreciate it.
we are not using the nodeprofile module.
just overiding tha template with our own user_profile.tpl.php
very much like it is described here
http://drupal.org/node/35728

cheers

if you need any sound samples it could be a good place for you to start.
thanks again

Unique concept. The theme will still be pretty damn fine without, but maybe a bit more whitespace to prevent crowding?

spyrol’s picture

we might try spacing things out a bit more.
version 2 soundsnap is coming a few more community feautures and some minor design changes.
watch this space :)
thanks

Have you updated any of our custom code for Drupal 6 or 7? If so, did you contribute any of it? Also, a suggestion: add ability o preview sounds by clicking on the sonogram - that woul be most intuitive. Right now it's a real pain to preview. You old simply add PREVIEW to one of the codices when you click (along with MOVE and CLOSE).

Nice site!

Thank you,
