I have just installed the taxonomy filter into my site and the site now says I need the taxonomy module. what do I need to install to get this right.

Taxonomy comes as a core module with Drupal 5.1. Have a a look at Administer->Site building->modules. It should already be enable.

I have looked and looked but I can go into Admin >>content management>>Categories and it is there or at least I can split up things in categories (or vocabs). but when I go into the modules it isn't listed and the other modules that I loaded say that it is missing.

is this a bug??

just checking my modules folder on the server.

I upgraded to 5.1 from 4.7 could this be why????

yeah the folder is on the server maybe it is the modules that are the problem and I haven't configured them properly

the folder can be there, but you must insure the files are in the folder. It is also possible that when uploading the file became corrupt. re upload the taxonomy.module folder from a new download is necessary.

I have followed your advice 3 times now using different download methods but still no joy. the files are in the folder and I can use taxonomy on my site it is just on the admin page for the modules that says that it is missing, so stopping other modules from loading in.

I did delete the forum off the menus page and I am now wondering if this has caused the problem. Forum is in the modules page but will not now activate, and also in the web server folder for modules.

Any suggestions

Please only respond to one of the two threads, not both. It is getting difficult to keep up with this issue now.

anyway this is what I posted on the other thread

I am such a idiot, well the problem was that I have a bad upload of the modules in the module folder and it uploaded the folders two times so that it was folders and then thought the folders was files as well so I just deleted the make false files and so it was sorted.
